Summaries of the 3 Peer Doubles: Soccer, Basketball, and Circuit Weight Training
Summary of Soccer Peer Double:
Professor Amel Karaselimovic gave me a rough overview of teaching a fun soccer class that intrigues both beginners and advanced players. I haven't played soccer since I was in the sixth grade. It was fun, but then I picked up that basketball and have been hooked ever since. I want to try and play in my leisure after rediscovering how enjoyable it is. It was difficult making a lesson plan for a sport I am not too knowledgeable about. Mr. Karaselimovic had my back. Anytime I needed a demonstrator, he was there to help. I was fairly nervous but I kept my composure during the lesson. Read more »
Rocky Themed Lesson Plan for Teaching Fitness Class @ LHS 12/7/2010
I thought that doing a themed lesson would be great for a fitness class. So this lesson plan is based on the Rocky movies and goes through some of the basic exercises he does to get in shape. Hopefully this will be fun for the students, I also used a station format so as to have enough equipment and space for everyone as well as keep the students involved and moving the whole time.
Equipment Needed: CD Player (Rocky theme music), Jump ropes (5), Agility Ladder (1), Whistle (1), Medicine Ball (1), Floor Mats (optional).
Volleyball Lesson PLan for HS PE class for 12/7/10. Brittney Gulick & Tristan Patton
This class has recently finished a unit on volleyball so we will not need to cover basic skills for our lesson. Instead, our focus is to allow the students to demonstrate the skills they already know and to play some games.

Exam 2 Adjustment
I made some adjustments to the exam scores for Exam 2. I made this decision after examining the overall grade distribution coupled with some of you identifying some problematic questions in my database, particularly T/F questions that need to be eliminated or re-written. If you have any questions about your exam score. Please let me know.
teaching philosophy
After taking this class I have developed an initial teaching philosophy for physical education. My philosophy includes helping kids learn and appreciate the benefits of sports and phisical activity, having fun and letting loose is a good way to connect with students, and a good lesson plan and coure objective is going to make or break the class. NFHS Certification: Fundamentals of Coaching Football
For this class, since it is entitled Teaching Team Sports, I decided to complete a course through NFHS to obtain a sport specific certification in the Fundamentals of Coaching Football (I have attached a copy of my Certificate as a pdf file). Although I have tremendous experience in the sport of football as a Defensive End (from little league to the Pros), I realized that I have been coaching football for the past 12 years solely based on my experiences; however, I needed more professional development to become a high school head football coach (which is a future aspiration).
3rd Peer Double: Circuit Weight Training
Note: Relax guys, you are only supposed to do 2. I got screwed over with the last test, it only gave me 40 minutes and got a bad score. I am hoping this shall suffice. That is all. Feedback should be updated tomorrow.
