As your teacher, I will:
- guide you to the best sources of information for the topics we cover.
- facilitate your learning with interaction, communication, and responsiveness--from myself and your peers.
- provide feedback and recommendations about the quality and professionalism of your work.
- verify your competency in completing the course goals by submitting a grade that reflects your knowledge and quality of work.
As a learner, you must:
- actively take charge of your learning.
- present good quality scholarly work.
- contribute to others' learning through effective communication and critical feedback.
- manage your time effectively and contribute work throughout the term--and beyond.
These expectations are not mutually exclusive. We have a shared responsibility in your learning. For an in-depth discussion about the basis for these expectations, refer to My University Teaching Philosophy & Method.
