I added some stuff and organized it a bit more. It seems to me that all that needs to be done is someone deciding to run with it and make it happen. It would be cool get this going by the spring, or atleast by next fall.

I like the idea of a club. I think it would be fun and informational. As well as provide a social setting to get to know more people around the school and community. I added onto the benefits of the club by say: For athletes to have additional support and encouragement during events. In the history of the club it said they once were the “Quinn Crazies” at games like basketball. I know for a fact that rowdiness gives the home team the advantage. I feel it would be beneficial for the club to help our school athletics program to take advantages of home games, by showing school support.

I added the other mission statement from the revisions tab. I was only looking at the discussion tab before. I also added a Ways and Means position since Fundraising will be part of the club. If money is involved then a Treasurer will also be needed, right?

Enable online members the ability to utilize a portfolio of sorts that may have different fitness plans and activities. the online members may set up meeting times or activities throughout their community. In ways of helping spread the get fit and be healthy campaign. It will in turn give the students an opportunity to teach in a relaxed atmosphere and a way hone their management skills. It would be a great way to help a lacking physical education curriculum that is in schools and a great way to start our youth down a path of healthful choices, a path that their parents may have the opportunity to embark on as well.

I just added to the document items proposed from the discussion that weren't put in directly.I love this idea and wish I was oncampus to take full advantage. As much as I love the freedom an online course offers, I do miss the sense of community you get from being on campus. I'm WAY too old to live in a dorm and experience my college days again, but I get a twinge when I read about the experiences the oncampus students have had together as they work on this and other classes. Keep up the good work.

I'm taking these courses online from CA and believe the EOU PE Majors Club is an excellent idea! I personally like "University Athletic Club of Easter Oregon" (it reminds me of the Davis Athletic Club I belonged to when I was a UCD student. I've included scheduled meetings in order to provide more structure to the club and an impetus to select individuals to get things moving.

Perhaps we could include a mission statement in this project as many organizations have one today. The purpose of the Eastern Oregon University Physical Activity and Health Organization is to provide a voice to the student body regarding issues surrounding department curriculum requirements, facility decisions and establishing a forum for discussion regarding leadership roles and responsibilities. In addition, establishing fund raising efforts and organizing trips to professional conferences. How does this sound? Do you

Well every organization today needs a mission statement, perhaps that would be a good place to start. Based on the information provided above, maybe it would sound like this: The purpose of the Physical Activity and Health Organization is to provide a forum for professional dialogue about the overall goals and objectives of Eastern Oregon University to promote issues related to curriculum and establish curriculum requirements that are in line with the national standards. In addition, this organization will provide an outlet for open discussion about fund raising, professional conferences, university equipment, while establishing a vehicle for leadership experiences amongst the student body. How does that sound? Do you think there is a need for a mission statement?
