I believe it is time to start getting excited! Vancouver 2010 is almost here.

Too much television has hurt interest in sports like baseball and basketball. There used to be only games on the weekend and a weeknight game. People use to love the ALL-Star baseball game because they saw players sparingly during the season. The Olympics benefit from extra television time. I remember when the United States defeated the Soviets in 1980. The game was actually viewed later that night on tape delay. Did you see the reaction from the people of Brazil when they were awarded the Summer Olympics. The United States has done a great job hosting the Games in the past. Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Lake Placid went well. However, I do not think we would have given the same reaction if Chicago would have been awarded the Games. In some ways, that is kind of sad.
