Muscle Confusion- Is there such thing?
Tony Horton's popular and intense P90X workout program is intented to transform your body in 90 days using a technique called muscle confusion based on generally sound nutritional science and a workout regimen that focuses on cardio and strength training. By working different muscle groups in such rapid concession, this supposedly allows your muscles to grow and apapt quickly without ever reaching the "plateau effect". Is there any truth behind this, or is it simply the intensity and deticating one's self to the hour or more P90X workouts six times a week that make this program effective. I'd love to hear any thoughts about the topic.

I myself have used the p90x...and i LOVED it. For the first few weeks the pounds did melt off....then it was MY fault and I lost concentration and was not able to do the workouts everyday...I must say that in the last 18 years or so I have tried every "method" for losing the bodyfat, and the muscle confusion works for me, but again, not everything works for everybody. I know for me, endless hours on the treadmill to burn fat do not work....I need short HIIT training sessions, with weights alternating with cardio in short intervals...I think you can really create your own program using the basics to achieve the same effects if you have enough background and tricks up your sleve!
ok so first let me say that this is my personal opinion but truthfully if you jump around for 90 a day 6 days a week for 90 days you will see a difference in your body. If you applied the same frequency and duration to any other workout regiment you would see results. The reason i don't like p90x is because it is a workout and nothing more. You cant continue on the p90x cycle for the rest of life you will hit the plateau effect eventually as with any workout and that is why i don't approve of the system. another downfall is that it doesn't take the proper amount of time to teach you form for these fast paced exercises your doing so your more prone to injury especially later in the workout once fatigue as begun to set in. yes it is the effective but would i recommend it for someone just wanting to get back into shape after being sedentary for years. Nor can those whom are suffering from disabilities alter the program to fit there needs alone. I think p90x like many of the at home dvd workout systems are a quick fix for truly learning how to change and alter your body in order to achieve the results you want. If your looking for something that you can 1 do for the rest of your life 2 can do at home 3 takes minimal amount of time 3 doesn't require a high level of fitness to become involved in the beginning then i would recommend looking into Kettlebells. One kettlebell and one exercise is all you need in order to completely to change your body and life. P90x is a system while kettlebells are a tool, learn to use the tool and apply to any systems or style of workout rather than learning to workout according to one system.
but always rememebr something is better than nothing and everybody is different.
