Proposal Idea
My idea for a proposal was to propose that the school purchase a charter bus for the athletic teams. I believe ultimately this could save the school money by not having to rent a bus for all the trips that the school has to take. We would only have to pay the driver and not the company for the bus. Any feed back on this idea would be appreciated.

I think this is a great idea! I know this year for volleyball we had some issues with the bus company since it came out of Tri Cities and the extra two hours they had to drive here before heading out on our trips and the extra two they had to drive to return back Tri Cities caused some issues with the amount of time the drivers could be driving, and forced us to stop and wait for 30-45 minutes for another driver to switch multiple times. This would defininitly eliminate some scheduling issues as well as timing issues. While the cost of the bus would initially be high, I think it would pay for itself in the end. Hopefully this is a proposal that becomes a reality because it would be a great benefit for the university!
The idea is good, but it may be a bit too simplistic for this project if not done right. It should take a lot of research and could be a good proposal. You would have investigate all of the peripheral concerns surrounding something like this, like the liability and maintenance costs. Checking with other schools that own their own bus would be helpful to support your case too. Another problem is that this same proposal idea has been done in this class in recent years, and I don't remember it having much depth. Of course, you wouldn't be using a previous proposal, but I'm just concerned it would be presented simply as a cost of one bus and rationale. There is a lot more to it then that. And, several bus costs and options should be explored and the implications for all of our teams should be addressed.
Thanks for the advice. I will dig into it deeper to see if I can find enough research to see if it is a valid project.
