Build character, important for youth to capture from sports.
Sports build character! This phrase is often used by community leaders, school officials, parents, and even average citizens when a discussion turns to the social functions of organized sports programs. Sports provide a social environment where personal and social attitudes, values and behaviors are acquired and what is learned in the sport setting transfers to other areas of an individual's life. Sports involve socialization, the building of new friendships and new interactions amongst adults and children.

Shann, I am a little confused. I think that most of us participating in this course konw that sports do build character, but I am not understanding why you posted just this paragraph. Are you going to use it for part of one of your projects for this class, or is it just something you felt like posting for us?
I agree with Angela, I'm a little confused as to the message that you've posted. I would agree with your premise that sports can build character, but in light of recent issues of many of our pro-athletes some would argue against that decree.
