Proposal Idea

I have been thinking about what I want to do for my proposal for quite a while now.  I think I have finally come up with a decent idea. I would love anyones input on if this idea would be viable or not.

My idea is to create a volleyball camp to be held at my old high school (Reardan High School).  I would have it for all girls entering 5th through 8th grade as a 4 or 5 day camp. I think it would be a great project as girls at that age level are often just getting into volleyball as they have opportunities to play it in junior high and in PE games against our rival school at the 5th and 6th grade level.

I think that's a great idea. I used to send both of my kids to basketball camp during their summer break. It was a great fund raiser for the local college basketball team. It also provided leadership opportunities for the older athletes, and mentors for the young athletes.

I coach a HS basketball team in Eastern Oregon and we do these kinds of camps a couple times a year. I do one in the summer that is a week long and we open it up to surrounding areas. I charge a small amount, generally just enough to cover the cost of instructors and some minor expenses like t-shirts and food costs. I also do one over Christmas break that I only open up to local school kids. This one we do not charge at all, and I have my Varsity kids teach most of the camp stuff. We split the kids into small groups and each player has a group of kids they mentor. Each player names their group of kids, so for example "kirsten's Krazies" or "Ferge's Fanatics", then at our home games the groups of campers sit together in their section and cheer on the HS kids.

I think this is a great idea especially if you are interested in coaching at that school. I think sports camps for younger generations are fun and can be very valuable to your school program. Building a base with the younger athletes is what helps build successful high school teams. Good luck with your camp idea.

A camp proposal will be a good choice.

Thanks for the feedback, I will continue to work on this project!

This is a great idea and very beneficial for the kids embarking on a new experience.
