Quick Start Tennis
Recently, I attended a workshop for the USTA’s Quick Start Program. The program is designed to introduce the game of tennis to children up to age 10 (although, the activities are a lot of fun for adults, too). The program’s emphasis is to get the kids playing tennis without a lot of time spent teaching basic skills. Actually, basic skills are important, but are taught in a way that games are built into the instruction process, so kids learn the backhand, forehand, volley, serve, etc. while playing. The following link provides instruction in teaching lesson for the Quick Start Program:

If your school or community center becomes a USTA member, it can qualify for grants and receive free tennis equipment.

Thanks for sharing this. I grew up playing tennis and love the game. I've wanted to bring it into my PE program, but wasn't sure how to do it without more than "lollipop paddles" for equipment. I will def look into grants. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing! What a great resource!
