Management Experience
I got another opportunity to work with game management at the EOU basketball games on Jan. 29 & 30. On Friday night I "job shadowed" one of the girls who sells tickets, because she wasn't going to be there Saturday, and I was to fill in for her. The game manager made sure I was confident and knew what I was doing and assured me that I could come to her with any questions at any time.
On Saturday I sat at the front table and was in charge of student tickets, complimentary tickets, and reserved seating tickets. It was a relatively easy job, however there was a lot to remember. The girl who normally works there had a good system for keeping track of everything so it ran smoothly.
Once again, the biggest thing I learned is that in management you have to be consistant. For example, I can't let one student in w/o their ID and tell another student they can't come in. Sometimes there are legitiment exceptions to be made, which requries good judgment.
