Theme Party Final
I took a teaching class at my junior college and for our final we had to have a themed party and carry it out in class. Me and my friend Brandee had a super hero party.
Theme: Superheroes
Decorations: Superman capes, red and blue streamers, balloons, superhero cutouts, green and black confetti, Spiderman Pinata.
Pre-opener:
Name: superhero crossword
Classification: Brain Teaser
Purpose: Pre-Opener
Description: find the words in the scrambled letters
Audience Entertainment:
Name: Superhero Guessing Game
Classification: Guessing Game
Purpose: Audience Entertainment
Description: We will read out descriptions of superheroes and have them guess which superhero it is.
Transition: Pinky finds a thumb.
First Activity:
Name: Villain Kickball
Classification: Just for fun
Purpose: Starter
Description: this is regular kickball with a twist. Every inning the team in the field will chose a villain. The villain will have a little ball that they can throw at the runner to get them out. The rest of the rules will be the same as regular kickball.
Transition: Instead of counting them off in numbers we will split them into three groups by assigning them spiderman, superman, or hulk and have them act out as they go to the carpet.
Second Activity:
Classification: Brain Teaser
Purpose: Rester
Description: There will be three groups at different stations. One station will be drawing Spiderman and we will see who can draw the best one. Another station will be putting together a Spiderman puzzle and we will see which group can put it together the fastest. The other station will be playing a matching card game and we will see who can get the most matches.
Transition: Have everyone get in a circle on the rug.
Third Activity:
Name: Hulkedy, Hulk, Hulk, Hulk
Classification: Individual Activity
Purpose: Get Acquainted
Description: A player in the center points to someone in the circle and says right or left hulkedy, hulk, hulk, hulk. The person pointed to must shout the name of the person to his or her right or left before the center person finishes speaking.
Transition: The person sitting to your right is your partner for the next activity.
Fourth Activity:
Name: Superhero Leap
Classification: Group Stunt
Purpose: Just for fun
Description: the group is split into an outer and inner circle. Each person has a partner. The inner circle runs clockwise and the outer circle runs counterclockwise. The group leader will stand off to the side and call the different stunts. When the move is called the partners hurry and find each other and do the stunt that was called, the last partnership to do the stunt will be out. Stunts: Spider in a Web- Person jumps into partners arms. Hulk crushing villain- One person is hulk and partner is villain and the hulk acts like they are crushing the villain. Batman and Robin in Bat Mobile- Partners sit on the ground next to each other like they are in a car.
Transition: the outer circle is a team and the inner circle is a team.
Finale:
Name: Web Ball
Classification: Group Contest
Purpose: Finale
Description: same rules as baseball, only you use plastic bat and balls.

This is an awesome way to make a class interactive and fun for students of all ages!
Definately a change from the norm! I like how this incoporates so much variety that it would be nearly impossible to become bored!
I have never heard of an activity party like this! What a great idea, I can see how this coulld be fun for all ages, I know the high school students that I work with would love this activity party!
It was a lot of fun! During the last couple weeks of class we had a party like this everyday with different themes and people taught for they're final! We had a great teacher and she taught us a lot about how to transition into new activities and what the purpose of different activities should be. IF anyone wants any other party plans I have a ton of them!
I'm curious as to what you used for your recourse. These are some great activities.
