Proposal Ashlee Michelson- Mountaineer Shootout

This looks like a great idea that could really take off at EOU. It could also be an opportunity for teams to get practice in for bigger 3 on 3 tournaments that are popular in the summer time.

I really like this idea as well and think it would be a very popular fundraiser to put on in La Grande, and would be very beneficial financially to your team. I also liked how you used Google docs for your presentation.

I think this is a great proposal! Not only would it be great for those participating in the event, but it would be great for the city of La Grande. As the tournament were to continue year after year, more fans and spectators and participants would come as the tournament could grow, and therefore these people would spend more time and money within the city. Businesses such as hotels, restaurants and stores would benefit immensely from the increase of consumers within the town. Overall, great job!

Great job on this! I think it's a great idea! Have you brought this up to the coaches?

Sounds like a lot of fun. One thing I didn't see though was what was involved in setting it up with the university. Is there paper-word to fill out, or just booking the courts with the facilities personnel?

This a great proposal. I was curious about the space in Quinn, will you be running all six courts at the same time? It seems like that might be a tight fit. Also, you may be able to generate even more revenue if you charge spectators a couple of bucks to watch.

Nice proposal! This would be a fun activity. With this large of an event, it may be a good idea to purchase extra t-shirts and EOU gear to sell at the door for an extra profit. Anything you can do in conjunction with the shootout will only raise more funds. One last thing... The use of officials for basketball games is pretty imperative. I didn't see anything in regard to officials as volunteers or a cost associated with this service in your proposal. You may want to think about adding this component.

Thanks for your ideas. I really like the charging for entry and selling school gear as well. Thanks for your input. I got the idea because we kind of have a mini 3 on 3 tournament in the spring so I could talk to the coaches about expanding it into a fundraiser.

For the campus division, what are the ages/who is eligable? It looks like you have 9-12th graders, college students, and college staff? Is it open to other community members? Also, I couldn't access the page to your paper.

nice you cant to wrong with a basketball project. you did a great job and thought through things very well.

I was also wondering about officiating. You could possibly get the EOU women's basketball to volunteer to do this for free. Also if space were limited you may consider opening it to the outdoors, in regards to sponsor booths, etc.

Typically 3 on 3 tournaments are set up were players call their own fouls especially once they get to high school that is why we would have court monitors who would watch over the games but not officiate the games. They are there to make sure the game doesn't get out of control.
The campus division would just be limited to students that are enrolled in classes at Eastern. Eventually I would like to open the tournament up to the community to create a bigger tournament but for the first year these are my proposed ideas.
