Excellent skills test. I especially like how you give points for the basic skills, but reward those with better distance/accuracy. A few points worth mentioning would be: it appears this is written for a 'right-footed' kicker. You may want to adjust the rubric in case a left-foot dominant student is in class. Also, you may want to define what 'satisfactory' and 'exceptional' skill execution is so students know what to shoot for, and so the grader can easily assign the bonus points. This could be as simple as lining up cones with sideline and distance boundaries (and marking off accuracy/distance lines), or even using a basketball court with the sidelines and halfcourt lines for accuracy/distance. Great job.

I agree with Bernard that this is an excellent skill test, and also that you should have markers for the distance and acuracy. Perhaps just add to the rubrics that "accuracy" is making it within a set of cones and "distance" and past a line of cones. (Or something to that matter.) Also, what age group is this for? If it's for younger students then 5 attempts at a good kick would be sufficient, however, older students would probably only need 2 or 3 attempts. Overall, I think you put it together very well.

Good points. To be honest, I thought I had put in the accuracy markers etc. but after looking at it I obviously forgot! I did this as a general test geared toward middle/highschool, rugby probably wouldnt work well with the youngsters! I used the 5 attempts to try and promote a fair shot. Everyone has their weaknesses, I for one would need at least that many attempts to even come close to some skills in this course like dance or gymnastics so I figured five would give the benefit of the doubt to a student who may nto be as athletic as another. Hopefully I can get back in here and change those things. Thanks for the input!

I think you did a great job on this project! It is covers all the main points and is very well organized! This is a grading rubic that I would use when teaching a class anytime!
