Are diets working

I think that dies are a waste of time and are just a good ways for these people that make up these ridiculous diets to make a easy dollar because they are lazy themselves. Don't eat carbs, only eat carbs, no red meat these diets are just stupid and they never have any facts to back them but todays society wants to loss weight over night and are hoping these stupid diets will do the trick with out having to get off their lazy butt. It  matter what you eat and how much you eat but all you have to do is burn more calories then you eat and you will eat but it is much easier for americans to just try crazy diets but all it take is to get up and burn some calories. Society has changed alot in the last 20 to 30 years from what i have hear from many people that i have talked to and seeing how industrilized and little hard labor is done today. I was talking with our ditch rider about how 20 to 30 years ago all the workers on the farms in the area were highschool kids that wanted to work and were active but now our socitey doesn't like that and would rather have imigrantes come in to do the hard phisycal work now there is only a hand full of kids that work on the farms around the are and most of the workers now are from mexico because that want a life and dont mind doing something that takes a little effort.

I totally agree. I think people make diets way to complex. People just need to eat healthy and have a simple diet plan and exercise. People think the more complex their diet is the less they have to exercise.

You are correct...it is about lifestyle and here is the rest of the story...besides highschool kids working on farms..even before that when i was growing up which was 40 years ago we picked berries and beans during the summer for money..all the kids did it..they would have busses that picked us up...it was part of summer vacation..the rest of the time we rode bikes , climbed trees and swam..no videos, no cable, no remote control and definitely we communicated by other means than emails and text messages..no need to diet!

Yep

As with everything else in modern society, people are unwilling to take responsibility for their own problems. They'de rather sue somebody or make laws against fast food. Come on people, spoons did not make Rosie Odonnel fat, SHE DID! I know a lot of people that have a harder time losing weight than others, but the bottom line is: if you burn more calories than you take in, you will lose weight. It's about will power. Talk to a wrestler or fighter and ask if they have a "fun time" cutting weight. They don't, but they have the will power.

I totally agree, as adults we do need to take responsibilities for our actions. But what about kids, they learn from their parents example. They eat what they parents provide for them, and what they see their parents eat. Also, maybe kids today don't want to work hard because they don't have to! We are making our kids fat by buying them video games, flat screen television sets, computers and cell phones.
Cutting out calories is not fun. But if you learn to eat healthy and exercise as a child, you won't ever have to think about cutting calories as an adult. Changing eating habits is more difficult as we get older. Most people who have a weight problem don't want to be fat.And having fast food restaurants on every corner makes it very difficult for some people to eat right.
