You are off track with this assignment. This paper is to be a review of the research literature related to your topic. You are writing it as if it is a report on the subject. While interesting, it is not what the intent of the paper is to be. You mention some research, but what should be provided is the critical analysis of this research and the methodology. Please review the guidelines in the "Apply" section of the learning guide again and redesign the paper.
Limit the topic to just psychological implications, not the physiological. That will be a start for narrowing the topic. Make sure you're exhausting all of the databases as you search this topic, because I suspect you might need to narrow it down a bit more so that you cover all of the research on your topic (and not have too many studies to review).
The paper will need to be in APA format too.
I see my mistake now. So if I were to narrow the topic to one psychological aspect of the the overtraining syndrome, such as depression and it's affect on performance, would that be considered narrow enough or too narrow? Please let me know. Thank you.
That should be narrow enough, provided the research is out there on that topic. It all depends on if how many researchers have chosen to address the topic.
You have all of the elements and concepts of a good paper, but more depth and cohesiveness is needed in the dialog. Plus, you have a few more studies to review. By cohesiveness, I am referring to making a more intimate connection between the studies in your discussion. Basically, include more comparison and contrast of multiple studies; also, draw conclusions based on these.
An abstract is needed.
The APA format is good, other then a few issues like lack of italics and some minor citation issues.
