Maybe a station with hoola hoops and see who can hoola hoop the longest, bounce a ball into buckets from a certain distance, throw bean bags into some holes cut in plywood, the old basketball game "knockout",

I usually do a wet and wild theme but I am afraid it is going to be to cold this year since we still have a lot of snow right now. I thought maybe we could do a field day with water games and another without

I thought we could make about 12 stations
I usually make a packet for each teacher with the stations, map, and game rules and direcitons in it.

Station 1 Balloon Pop

Each student has a balloon tied around their ankle. The object of the game is to step on and pop everyone else's balloon but to remember to protect your balloon. The last person to still have their balloon wins.

Terry,

I would like to join this collaboration.

Since it is still cold, I would suggest saving the Wet 'n Wild theme along with the water games for warmer weather. By the way, with the weather conditions, will the field day be held outside on the field or indoors (i.e., gym)?

Here are a few suggestions for some Field Day games:

1) Tug-O-War
2) Sack Races (beanbag)
3) Three Legged Race
4) Wheel Barrel race
5) Chicken Relay

For field day, we also need to think about the following:

- Field Day schedule
- Teacher Assignments
- Volunteer Form
- Notice to send home to parents

Regards,
Eric

The field day will have to be outside since the gym is already being used that day. It has warmed up and most of the snow has melted now, but with Alaska weather I need to have two plans just in case.
Thank you for the help and ideas

I just set-up the template for the field day games and added 4 games. I tried to keep in mind that weather and facilities may be an issue for some of us. I also tried to incorporate some of the activities that we are learning about - like orienteering. It would be nice if others contributed with activities that relate to the subjects we are learning as well. I'm going to revise some of my games so that they are more fitting with Teaching Individual Sports/Games.

I am so happy to see all the games that have been added. Thank you
I am going to add some water games tomorrow. So if anyone has a really sunny day and wants to do these games they can. I am going to use them this year because the weather is beautiful now.

I added a few games. Here are some links I found that are pretty helpful with ideas: http://www.drwoolard.com/activities/field_day...

http://www.educationworld.com/a_lesson/03/lp3...

If anyone else need to find gmes to add you can look there.

I love all the great ideas being added to the collaboration. I am going to copy these games at the end to make sure that I have them for future field days. I have a feeling this field day is going to be a blast. I will keep you posted on how it goes. (May 20th field day for my school)
Thanks again
Terry
P.S. Please keep adding more it is wonderful to have a variety of games.

I added a schedule and a map. Does anyone feel like we should add more? I decided to do a combination water and no water games to make the field day fun. It has finally stopped snowing and the weather has been great so I think we came up with a good combination of games that will keep the kids interest but also fill up the time we have been allowed.
Please let me know if you want to anything else. I will submit the final next week

There are some great ideas on here. I have a few more game ideas to add to the list such as Egg/Spoon Race and Tug Of War.

Can someone now re-title this to make it more telling of what the project includes?
