Basketball skill test
Objective: Perform basic basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting, and passing
Set up 5 stations
Station 1: Tape large box on wall for target for passing, make 5 boxes with each being smaller as the line goes down. Player will have 5 basketballs set out on floor and will go bounce pass the first ball into the square, 2nd square a chest pass, 3rd square will be a bounce pass from further distance, 4th square a chest pass form a further distance, and 5 square a pass of players choice from furthest distance. To pass objective player must complete 3 out of 5 passes.
Station 2: Players will dribble a basketball down the floor and back dribbling with head up and not losing control of ball. Players will have 2 chances to perform this action. To pass objective player must complete one full down and back dribbling session with head up and not losing control of ball.
Station 3:WIth a gymnasium set up with 6 goals inside, players will have a course in which they must dribble ball to each goal and perform a right handed layup and a left handed layup. To pass player must make 3 out of 6 layups with off hand, and 4 out of 6 layups with strong hand.
Station 4:Player will shoot 5 shots from each wing, free throw line, and both baselines and top of 3 point line. To pass player must make 50% of 25 shots.
Station 5: Combination course. Players will dribble ball down and back on court performing a layup, then dribble back down and back and perform a jump shot. To pass player must dribble down and back 2x and make one lay up and one jump shot with 45 sec time limit.
