According to our text and many other resources as well, not only is it beneficial to digestion to incorporate sufficient "living" foods into our diet, but to make sure we have sufficient water intake as well. When foods like probiotics or fiber enter the digestive system, part of what they do is to ease the process of excretion by adding water (thus bulk) to stool. To accomplish this, water must be either retained in the intestines when it is normally reabsorbed by the body, or pulled from the body itself. Make sure that no matter what your nutritional needs are, that you have sufficient water intake to support the addition of fiber or probiotic foods to your diet. Great resource, thanks!

Thank you Haley, here is another important fact to motivate water intake; when the body pulls water from the body to process toxins and waste and to matabolize it will often take water from the place where your body stores the most water - - - YOUR BRAIN - - - There is a reason why headache often accompanies dehydration.
