Combining a tournament with a fundraiser
For another class I created a proposal for a hypothetical soccer tournament/fundraiser. The idea was my own, and I wanted to share it with everyone to see what you thought about the idea of it.

I would appreciate feedback. Thanks!

Hello Grace,
I like your flaming soccer ball logo and think your tournament/fundraiser concept is a good one. I particularly like it that the athletes will be part of something that helps others, which is a something more student groups should experience. How does the fundraiser work?
Some other things I have seen done to raise money during tournaments are raffles and such. One I liked was 50/50 where half the money went to the winner and half to the cause.
Just so you know, I didn't make that logo... I found it online. And basically, the basis of the fundraiser is that each team gives $400 to sign up for the tournament, half goes to putting on the tournament, and half goes to the hospital. Also, we would be encouraging and accepting donations from individuals throughout the weekends.
The raffle idea is really good. I would idffintely incorporate something like that. Hopefully, the sponsers would help with that also.

Hello Grace,
Ryan is correct in the success of 50/50 raffles. My cheer squad did this at nearly every home game and it was quite profitable. It requires very little pre-planning, work or expense. You just need an enthusiastic group of students to sell tickets!
A fundraiser the crowd loved was See's chocolate bars at the games. Pep Squad helpers worked the crowd, selling them at a 50% profit margin. You need someone you trust to manage the product, sales and income. The only thing I didn't like was that my house smelled like chocolate...
That is a good idea also. And I love chocolate and it's smell so that would work perfectly for me.
