"The Law" on Coaching

For those of you who haven't heard me talk about it, I am studying kickboxing and a little bit of Mixed Martial Arts at Team Quest in Gresham Oregon.

One of the people who inspires me to keep pushing harder every day and has always taken the time to say something nice when he sees me working with my coach is Matt Lindland. As a legend in MMA, and a olympic silver medalist I thought his perspective on what makes a good coach would be interesting, and I was right.

"You have to love what you do and care about seeing others succeed because as a coach is not about you it's about the athlete you are working with and the only real reward is seeing someone else achieve their goals, its a pretty selfless job and if you can handle that then move forward with honing your craft"

That is so true, it really is a selfless act, but it is extremely rewarding to watch someone eles achieve their goals and suceed due the your help..
