Degree plan and tentative schedule

Attached is a copy of my plan to complete my degree in Physical Activity and Health, with a Health and Wellness concentration (based on the assumption that classes are usually offered in the same term each year).  Most of my credits will be transferred from Penn State University so I mainly need the core courses and a few electives.  I was hoping to complete a bit sooner, but with the schedule of the EXS 321, 322, 323 that must be taken in order that would be difficult.  I work part time for UPMC and have 2 kids under 5, so I am trying to take classes in groups that I hope will be manageable together, as well as keep the credits low for financial reasons.  If you see that I have 2 very challenging courses together please share!

I am in a position similar to you. I changed jobs which meant going to different schools. Transfer of credits can be frustrating. I have the same philosophy as welll. Balancing class schedules with work and home is the key to finishing college through a distance education program.

Thank you for your support! It is hard to return to schol no matter what the situation. I really love my job now, but know I need to keep educating myslef to some degree on everything I can to keep up. I have spent so many years "at the end of the line" in the medical field doing the autopsies, that I would really like to try to be a part of the prevention and or intervention from here on out. I have definatly matured since college since I know actually care about my grades and really want to do well so that I can learn as much as possible; on the other hand I still do not know what I want to be!

I just have to say that biomechanics was the hardest class I have ever taken! Be prepared to spend a lot of time on this class. Darren Dutto is a good teacher, it is just the information that was a bit overwhelming to me. If you have some understanding of physics then you will be fine, if not then you may want to consider taking it easy that term when it comes to your class load. The assignments were hard and time consuming. The good thing though is that he grades on a curve so just do your best and your grade will be better than you expected it to be. I am not trying to scare you, I just wanted to say to not overdo it that term. I have yet to take motor development but Danny Mielke tends to expect a lot from his students also, yet he is a wonderful teacher!

KIMBERLY, THANK YOU FOR THE INFO ON THE BIOMECHANICS. I HAVE ACTUALLY TAKEN THIS COURSE AT ANOTHER SCHOOL BEFORE, BUT MY CREDITS WERE TOO OLD TO TRANSFER, AND I ASSUME I CAN DO BETTER THIS TIME AROUND SINCE I KNOW IT WAS A DIFFICULT CLASS FOR ME, LOTS OF PHYSICS IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY!!! THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE FORWARNING, I HAVE TO SEE HWT ELSE I SCHEDULED MYSELF FOR!

I am so glad you have some background to work from! It shouldn't be as hard for you then. Good luck!

Background is great to have, but I did not do that well in the class last time around. You know how it is, I was young and stupid the first time around in college and just did enough to get by, but I am now very focused and patient wither regards to my school work and appreciate your advice. I looked at my schedule and the syllabus, and believe I will re arrange some things.
