I have tried using it one time and found it very distracting. Perhaps if I would have gave it more time I would have gotten used to it but it was to annoying for me to try.
That's good to know... thanks for the comments.. I did notice that it came undone once during my workout but for the most part it didn't bother me.. it will be interesting when I wear it this weekend.

The monitors that allow you to download the data after the workout are handy because you can reflect on how well you stayed at your target. These can be a lot more expensive though. During the workout, maybe you can better avoid being distracted if you know you can examine it after. If you know your zone though, it should just take a quick look to see where you are at. The audible signalling can be helpful in this regard, but also annoying at times. I like keeping my Garmin 405 on the inside of my wrist because I find it easier to glance at quickly.
I used my friends Polar again today and forgot to set it to start keeping track of the data. I looked down and saw my heart rate, but didn't realize I had forgotten to press start until the end of my treadmill time... so another hazard of relying on the information and then its not there... but what was impressive is that the treadmill I was on picked up the information from my heart rate monitor and kept track so at the end it gave me very accurate data due to the fact it was keeping track the whole time I was on the treadmill. So.. I was saved this time...
I wonder if all the newer treadmills will pick up that data?? This was very interesting to me and I would be curious if others have found this to be true for them?

My brother, Bobby died at 39 years old of a complete heart block and my Father followed 9 months later at 69 years of age. My brother smoked heavily. He drank, but was alcohol free upon autopsy , as he had stopped drinking 2 weeks before he died. I am thinking blood was too thick. Anyway, neither was considered very overweight, but bad genes. I amn the one with the weight issues in the famuily, but I don't drink , smoke or anything else that is highly unhealthy. Last summer I underwent a battery of cardiac tests, as Brian Sather may remeber . I must have joined and quit this class 3 times already. I even tootally paid it commpletely and still quirt as I could not keepo up withg the pace of all of the "athletes" out there' This sis amuch better format and when I joined Jenny Craig, I had purchased a Polar-T31(what did I know? It was my favorite color, PINK, and I thouoght that it would be a help in not allowing my heartrate to climb way too high and I could exercise within my capacity suggested for me. My daughter in law, who I may have mentioned is a personal trainer in Florida was visiting and she showed me how to stretch and then we walked and stretched again and it was most helpful for the pulse(heart rate ) most of all. I would like to wear a decent pedometer so that I know that I take 10,000 steps /day at least and I think that this will help me in my line of work, always being on the go. Any suggestions as to what would be the most accurate?How expenxsiove is the Garmin405? Thanks. I am exercising and using my legs a lot mot=re than last week. Eating more healthy also. Feeling better, but have been exposed to a lot of swine flu at school, sad to say.
