There are several reliable and normed tests of cardiovascular fitness:
- 1.5 Mile Run
- 1.0 Mile Walk
- 12 Minute Swim
- 12 Minute Run
- Queens College Step Test
- Harvard Step Test
- YMCA 3-Minute Step Test
Note that there are 2 formulas for the 1.0 Mile Walk Test. One includes age estimates based on a study by Kline et. al (1987) and the other does not have age in the formula, but is normed for "college age" people.
