Basic Frisbee Throw (cross body backhand)

- Cock the wrist back, close stance, and move disc behind hip.
- Unwind by opening hips, torso, arm, and wrist (in order) toward target.
- Stop the hand before release so disc pivots around index finger.
Catching methods
- One handed “C”: With thumb down, form a “C” with thumb and fingers.
- Two-handed “C”: Same as above but use both hands to catch by clamping down at same time.
- Sandwich: Keeping both hands level to ground with palms facing, slap them together when the disc arrives between them.
- Trap: Trapping the disc against the body using either or both hands.
Sidearm (forehand)
- Grip: Two fingers grip inside the rim with thumb on top. Palm faces target on release.
- Start with slightly open stance.
- Keep elbow near body and wrist extended back.
- Step with sidearm throw motion keeping disc level.
- Before release, stop arm, and extend wrist forcefully.
Overhand
- Grip: Thumb under lip and all fingers on top of disc.
- Arm back during back swing.
- Bring the disk up above shoulders with elbow up and out and thumb down..
- Release wrist before delivery.
