Fundamental skills: Most skills such as passing and pivoting are similar to basketball.

Rules

7 Players allowed on court consisting of the following positions:

 

  1. Goal Shoot (GS): Can move anywhere in an around goal 1/3 of court.
  2. Goal Attack (GA): Able to shoot on goal. Can move anywhere in center 1/3 and attacking 1/3 of court.
  3. Wing Attack (WA): Can move anywhere in center 1/3 and attacking 1/3 of court but not in goal circle. Key passer. Cannot shoot on goal.
  4. Center (C): Can move anywhere but the goal circles.
  5. Wing Defense (WD): Defends player in goal 1/3 and center 1/3 of court. Adds to the attack near the attaching transverse line. Cannot move into goal circle.
  6. Goal Defense (GD): Defends one on one in goal 1/3 and center 1/3 of court. Allowed to defend in goal circle.
  7. Goal Keeper (GK): Defends any player in the attacking 1/3 of the court. Administers throw ins on goals line and sideline in goal 1/3 of court.
  • The Ball is made of leather, rubber or similar material, weighing 400 - 450 gms (14 - 16 ounces) and measuring 690 - 710 mms (27 - 28 inches).
  • The Court is 30.5 metres (100 feet) long and 15.25 metres (50 feet) wide, which is divided into thirds. There is a center circle with a diameter of 0.9 metres (3 feet) and two goal circles which are semi-circles measuring 4.9 metres (16 feet) in radius.
  • The Goal Posts are placed mid point of each goal line and measure 3.05 metres (10 feet) in height. The goal rings have an internal diameter of 380mm (15 inches). The goal ring projects horizontally from the post on a single attachment measuring 150mm (6 inches) in length.
  • The minor rules, among which are the infringements of held ball, stepping, breaking, offside and over a third, are penalized with a free pass. The major rules, which mainly consist of obstruction, intimidation, contact and discipline are penalized with a penalty pass or penalty pass or shot. In this penalty, the offender must stand out of play until the ball has left the thrower's hands.
  • Must pass or shoot for a goal within 3 seconds after obtaining the ball.
  • Once you have landed holding the ball you must keep at least 1 foot on the ground. You are not allowed to step jump or drag the planted foot. The pivot foot may be lifted but not returned to the ground. If the pivot foot is lifted, the other foot must remain on the ground until the ball is released.
  • The defending player must be at least 3 feet from the player with the ball.
