Basketball Strategy Outline

Motion offense is a free lance system used mainly against man-to-man defense.

Principles of motion offense:

  1. Pass and screen away from ball
  2. Give teammates time to use their screens
  3. Keep balanced floor

Zone Offense Principles

  1. Attack seams of zone between players.
  2. Any pass can be followed by quick cut to basket. If pass is not available cutter continues through and moves to spot on opposite side of court. Other offensive players rotate over to fill empty spaces.
  3. Players may cut to open spot at high or low post.
  4. If a wing player is overplayed by defense use back door cut.
